I'd Rather be Reading
A Library of Art for Book Lovers
A Library of Art for Book Lovers
This compendium of contemporary art, photography, and poetry is my love letter to all things literary. Artwork from 60 artists including Jane Mount, Oliver Jeffers, and Sophie Blackall are interwoven with essays by Gretchen Rubin, Ann Patchett, and others, myself included. It was published by Chronicle Books in 2017 and was a #1 bestseller on Amazon.
Following the release of I'd Rather be Reading, I worked with Chronicle Books to develop an ancillary line of products including a hardcover journal, notebooks, stationery, and a puzzle.

65 Artists Illustrate the Secret Sidekicks of History
"An illuminating inventory of the little-known champions behind a wide range of cultural icons. Each story is told by a different writer and illustrated by a different artist, all of astounding range and talent." - Brain Pickings
As one of the contributing writers, I wrote an essay on Queen Kaʻahumanu, the favorite wife of King Kamehameha the Great and the most politically powerful woman in Hawaiian history.
