Senior Community Manager, Chronicle Books • 2009-2014
In 2008, social media introduced a new platform for businesses to connect directly with consumers. Identifying an emerging market for Chronicle Books, a San Francisco–based publisher, I proposed a new community manager role and designed the company’s first social media strategy. As Senior Community Manager, I led online marketing for the brand, creating original web content, developing and executing social media campaigns, and writing weekly newsletters and communications. I trailblazed and managed all official Chronicle Books social channels, including Twitter (@ChronicleBooks @ChronicleKids), Facebook, Pinterest, YouTube, Instagram, and Tumblr. As managing editor of the Chronicle Books blog, I was also responsible for content strategy, editorial direction, project management, copyediting, and web production.

Copywriter, Chronicle Books • 2006-2009
My first role at Chronicle Books was as a copywriter in the marketing department, where I wrote promotional and catalog copy for 300 titles a year. I established Chronicle’s brand voice and style guide with input from editorial, design, sales, and marketing stakeholders. I wrote weekly e-newsletters, blog posts, ads, and web content, and assisted in editorial development of book titles and jacket copy.

PR Coordinator, Rhode Island School of Design • 2003-2005
As primary press liaison for The RISD Museum, I designed and implemented media strategies to promote art exhibitions and museum programs. I worked closely with curatorial staff and administrators to write press materials and advertising copy, pitch stories, and secure media coverage for school-wide initiatives and conferences.
